Tallinn Lõitsu Kindergarten Gets a Smart Greenhouse

Tallinn Lõitsu Kindergarten installed a smart greenhouse where children can grow plants themselves and watch how a tiny seed becomes real food. Children can sow seeds, care for plants and celebrate their first sprouts and harvest. This teaches them how important it is to grow food in a healthy and environmentally friendly way.

The smart greenhouse uses energy-efficient LED plant lights and a water-recycling irrigation system. The greenhouse can maintain the right climate for plants to grow well. Children also learn about the circular economy – plant pots can be reused and soil can be composted.

All grown plants are organic and fresh and go directly from the "greenhouse to the table" without excessive packaging. The smart greenhouse brings children joy of discovery and teaches them to care for nature and a healthy lifestyle.
