Smart greenhouse for schools — frequently asked questions

Urban Farm's smart greenhouse is installed in 19 Estonian schools and kindergartens. Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions.

How much does a smart greenhouse cost for a school?

Urban Farm's Standard model costs €4,495 + VAT. The MAX model costs €6,995 + VAT. The price includes the greenhouse, seeds, substrate, pots, plant labels, lesson materials, installation and user training.

What is the difference between Standard and MAX models?

The Standard model is designed for smaller spaces — 4 growing tiers, 96 growing pots. The MAX model is larger and includes additional features such as powder coating, plexiglass doors and integrated heating.

Is the greenhouse easy to use?

Yes. The greenhouse is fully automatic — automatic watering, lighting and climate control. Children can plant seeds and harvest plants themselves. Training is included in the price.

How long do microgreens take to grow?

Most microgreens are ready to harvest in 7–14 days. Pea shoots grow in 8–10 days, radish in 7–9 days. Children see results quickly.

What lesson materials are included?

The greenhouse comes with complete lesson materials — plant growth cycle descriptions, food education materials and STEM learning guides.

Is Urban Farm EU Organic certified?
